Indigenous INS-Arihant made India’s nuclear triad

India’s first indigenous nuclear ballistic missile submarine, INS-Arihant has accomplished its first "deterrence patrol" successfully. The project was underdeveloped for three decades in a highly classified programme, which comes under the direct governance of the Nuclear Command Authority led by PM Modi. After the successful completion of the "deterrence patrol", the project can be enumerated as a fully functional underwater ballistic missile delivery platform.

Now India's nuclear capability has completed its triad by adding maritime strike. It is a strategic asset for India as it can fire city-destroying missiles, from the ocean and remain undetected for a long time. Also, it can sneak closer to the coast of an inimical nation and fire missiles into their impregnable territory, which can’t be possible with land-based short-range missiles.

Today PM Narendra Modi apprised, "I congratulate all those involved, especially the crew of INS Arihant for this accomplishment, which will always be remembered in our history."
