Picasso, whose art redefined the 20th century was born on 25thOctober 1881. When the spaniard was just 9 years old he completed his first painting. By the time he was 13, his father, a painter himself vowed to never paint again as his son has was identified as an art prodigy.
Pablo Picasso was an avid promoter of peace and revolutionized the world of art by introducing Cubism. He gave the world a different view. A different way to create and to think. He pushed both the limits of art and what it means to be an artist.
When he was not painting,he designed costumes for ballet and theatre. Wrote poems and playwright, and designed stages. Inspired by another great artist, Salvador Dali, Picasso mixed surrealism and cubism in his sculpture and created works of art that the world has not seen before.
Always inspiring and influencing generation upon generation of artists, he left a mark in the history of art. A man who could draw like many different artists challenged our own perception of artistry.
He may not be with us anymore but his imagination is very much alive.
Happy Birthday Mr. Picasso!
